DEFO BE BACK

Airbnb: July 2022 : 4 Bed *****
Spent a wonderful two weeks here with my husband, kids and parents. Was so relaxing, location is perfect for exploring and the house has been restored beautifully with everything you need and more. My fave areas were the reading area, the kitchen where we cooked many family meals and the huge bath tub. Our 3 dogs loved the property and surrounding gardens, plus the beautiful river walk down to the beach. Sheila was a fantastic host and her communication was excellent. Will definitely be returning.

Clean & Comfy- a great home from home

Beautifully renovated and very clean with a really comfy 4-poster bed. Quiet, cosy, with a lovely fire stove and off street parking. Plus it’s only 1 minute walk into the village. Highly recommended!

Perfect Holiday Home!
TripAdvisor Aug2019

We spent four nights in The Old Police Station at Easkey over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It is a very comfortable holiday home with everything you could possibly need to feel at home. The house has private parking at the back and a wood/turf stove which we used each night. We cooked in each evening in the really well stocked kitchen. The four-poster bed is extremely comfortable and has an en-suite bathroom meaning there are bathroom facilities on each floor. The house is very quiet at night. Most importantly, it is a dog-friendly holiday home and our little dog loved his holiday as much as we did. We shopped daily in Bernie’s Convenience Store in the village which has everything you need from candles to brown bread! Rosie’s Pottery Shop is full of beautiful pieces that are hard to resist! The walk down to the sea alongside the river is so peaceful and pretty. Breathtaking scenery. We took a drive to Enniscrone and walked along the beach there. Sheila is a lovely ‘hostess’ and Marie in the local shop (also caretaker of the property) is a gem. We would highly recommend The Old Police Station

Breathtaking

We first stumbled upon Easkey when we were looking for a quiet weekend getaway in the West. So we looked at Sligo and found this absolute hidden gem in Easkey. Our first visit was in September 2017 and we couldn’t wait to return. We just spent the October bank holiday staying at Sheilas beautifully renovated old police station and as good as it looks in the photos, it’s even better in person. Easkey village was all decked out for Halloween creating a brilliant atmosphere in the village. For such a small place there’s plenty to do. It’s less than a 10 minute walk to the beach, there are great “loop” routes for cycling or running and the views will blow you away. The locals are friendly and happy to tell you of anything happening locally that you might not find online. Other landmarks such as Dun Briste (1 hour), Enniscrone (15 mins) and Aughris Head (20 mins) are all easily accessible by car. We are already looking forward to returning again next year. Can’t recommend it highly enough and the accommodation is absolutely faultless.

This is a lovely property with its own unique historical and rustic charm. Sheila was very helpful and the location was great both for Easkey village and as a base for visiting the surrounding area

The place is a real home from home. There are some lovely touches like local artwork on the walls and china on display. Downstairs bathroom is huge and the four poster bed is very comfortable. There is a lot more provided compared to other self catering homes eg soap; towels; washing up cloths and tea towels; WiFi; smart tv; wood burning stove; tea and coffee and a carton of fresh milk! Really enjoyed our time.

Lots of room for us and our dog right in the middle of Easkey! Quirky apartment with modern kitchen and bathroom and v.comfortable bed. The fire was lit when we arrived which made it really cosy!

What a thrill for us and kiddies to stay in a renovated police/Garda station! An unique wonderful experience. Highly recommend you try it and Sheila is a joy to deal with.

Very easy to book and communicate with Sheila. Easy to find and secure. Sheila had heat on and a lovely turf fire lit which was wonderful. Apartment was bigger than I thought with a lovely modern kitchen and bathroom. Amazing to hear the Sea crashing on the shore close by, good base to stay to explore local area and relax. Pudding Row cafe in the village is fab

Relaxed holiday
Stay from 12 to 26 August 2017

As it was our second stay in one of Sheila´s properties, so we were not too surprised to find again a very cosy home for 2 weeks in dreamy village of Easkey. The former police station has been well-appointed with smart and kind of antique furniture which gives especially the sleeping room on the second floor a homly athmosphere. The small but very efficient kitchen is excellent equipped by perfect tableware and dishes; the living room has got an old-fashioned stove which is ecological worth while connected with the sink water supply and the heating. Although the property is still in progress to be completed we enjoyed a relaxful stay and a good starting point for walks and tours to the Sligo way, the Ox-mountains, and the fascinating Atlantic coast. Besides of all this: two pubs, an exciting restaurant with mostly organic food (Pudding row) and two convenience stores offer a kind of easy life. We highly recommend the property for those who enjoy a home away from home, and far away from standarized noisy tourism.

This property has been restored beautifully. It is so comfortable and I was able to put on a lovely fire each evening. The property has everything you could possibly need for a lovely, cosy break.

Met by Shelia and Dermot, great communication beforehand and during stay. The house was lovely, home from home. A welcoming fire burning in the log burner for our arrival 🙂
Easky was relaxing with a great traditional music night in the local.
Should we be in the vicinity again I would be looking to rebook, though maybe next time we will stay in one of Shelias other properties and discover the delights there.
Thanks for a great stay, good luck with the rest of the house conversion.

I was such a pleasure to stay in Easky at an amazing house in the old Police Station. The fire was lit when we arrived which made the place so cosy. We can’t wait to stay here again. The whole experience made this our best New Years ever. Thank you so much Sheila hope to stay again this summer.

Sheila had a fire going in the stove which added to the lovely atmosphere of the apartment. The location of the apartment is fantastic, a one minute stroll to the pub and shops. Easkey is a beautiful village which has fantastic walks a plenty. Only a ten minute drive to enniscrone and 30 minutes from the large town of ballina. Be sure to visit pudding row cafe in Easkey, the food is amazing!!! Sheila was a great host and always got back to my emails very quickly. I would definitely recommend this lovely comfortable newly refurbished apartment.
